## For Companies

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can Vein move money or change my books?">
    No. Every connection is read-only. Vein can read balances, transactions,
    payroll, and ledger data, and it cannot move money, alter your ledger, or
    run payroll. See [Connect a data source](/guides/connect-a-data-source).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does Vein see my bank login?">
    No. Connecting hands you to the provider's own login: Plaid Link for banks,
    an OAuth screen for QuickBooks, Stripe, and Gusto. You authenticate with
    them, not with us, and we never receive those credentials.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Two providers report different revenue. Which one is right?">
    Both, usually. Stripe counts what it processed; QuickBooks counts what you
    booked, and timing, refunds, and fees move the number. Vein flags the
    conflict and asks you to pick, per metric rather than per provider. See
    [when two sources disagree](/guides/connect-a-data-source#when-two-sources-disagree).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I sent a report with a mistake. Can I edit it?">
    No, and that is deliberate: an investor's copy should not change under
    them. Send a corrected report instead. Reports are frozen at the moment you
    send them, which is also why later metric changes never rewrite history.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does a data room stay up to date on its own?">
    No. A data room links a report you have already sent, so it shows what that
    report showed. To share newer numbers, send a new report and create a room
    against it. See [Share a data room](/guides/share-a-data-room).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I share a data room without a password?">
    No. Every data room requires one. You can additionally require visitors to
    identify themselves by email, set an expiry date, and turn off PDF download
    and printing.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens if I disconnect a provider?">
    Future syncs stop. Metrics already derived from it stay, and reports you
    have already sent keep the numbers they were sent with.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I add a teammate?">
    Invite them from Team Management in Settings, choosing the role they should
    have. What each role can and cannot do is set out in
    [Roles and permissions](/guides/roles-and-permissions).
  </Accordion>

## For Investors

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What is the difference between a report request and data access?">
    A report request produces one document, assembled and reviewed by the
    company before it is sent. Data access is a standing permission to read
    named data as it changes. Most relationships want the first on a schedule
    and the second rarely.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why is my Intelligence feed empty?">
    Because the reports you have received carried metrics but no written
    updates. The feed is built from the qualitative sections of submitted
    reports, so it fills as companies include them. See
    [Portfolio intelligence](/guides/portfolio-intelligence).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I ask several companies the same thing at once?">
    Yes. One request can target multiple companies, and that is what makes the
    answers comparable. Save the selection as a template to repeat it, or put it
    on a schedule to send itself. See
    [Schedules and templates](/guides/reuse-request-templates).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I see data a company has not shared with me?">
    No. Everything you see comes from what a company chose to send or to grant.
    Access is read-only, bounded by the approved scope, and revocable by the
    company at any time.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How current are the numbers I am reading?">
    They are as current as the report they came from. Metrics inside a report
    are pulled from the company's connected systems at the time the report was
    generated, then frozen when it was sent.
  </Accordion>
